Barons move to 4-2 record after Heart Tourney

Bishops Barons picked up another 2 wins and 2 losses at the Heart Tournament Nov 8-10th. In the tournament opener against Heart the Barons struggled to keep their heads in the game. shooting a disappointing 30% form the field, and 50% from the line the Barons lost to the Highlanders 79-51. A. Martret and L.Crocker scored 14 pts for the defeated Barons. A. Gough chipped in another 10pts and 7 rebounds while L. Mackenzie added another 6 rebounds for the Lady Barons.

The Barons bounced back to a 68-41 win over the Mobile Monarchs. Improving field shooting to 44%, 3pt shooting to 17% and free throw shooting to 66%. L.Crocker led the offensive with 16 pts and 7 rebounds. A. Martret added 15 pts and 3 steals. S. Hansford added another 13 pts for the win.

A short Barons bench faced St. Bons and were denied a win falling 61 to 47. Extremely poor field shooting (26%) contributed to the loss although free throw shooting was respectable at 66%. A. Martret led the defeated barons with 20 pts and 4 steals. A. Gough added 11 pts and 7 rebounds, while R. Evans chipped in 8 pts and J. Noftle 13 rebounds for the Barons.

In their best showing so far this season, the Barons defeated the Booth Braves 68-56. The Lady Barons shot 46% from the field, 25% from the 3pt line and 82% from the free throw line. A. Gough led the attack with 20 pts and 10 rebounds, and 5 steals with A. Martret adding another 17 pts. L. Crocker chipped in another 9 pts and 8 rebounds and R. Evans 9 rebounds for the win.

Full steam ahead over Patriots

The Lady Barons came out 2fast 2furious against the O'Donel Patriots in their second game of the season. The Barons upped their field shooting from Sunday's performance to 49% from the field, their 3 pt shooting upped to 67%, and free throws up to 62%, well above last season's averages. A. Gough led the scoring with 19pts and chipped in a individual player record of 8 steals. A. Martret control the offensive and added 15 pts and another 5 steals. Sarah Hansford chipped in 9 pts and 9 rebounds to secure a 79-47 win for the Barons.

Barons Open Strong in Preseason Opener.

The Barons defeated the Vikings 64-44 in the pre-season opener. A. Gough led the offensive with 17 pts, 8 rebounds and 6 steals. A. Martret added 13 pts and J. Noftle 10 pts for the win. Rookie L. Sutton came up big on the boards with 9 rebounds with R. Evans adding another 5. The Barons will need to strengthen their 38% field goal shooting and 54% free throw shooting to ensure a showing at this years Elite 8.
