Barons Challenge St. Bon's

The Bishops College Barons played a strong game against St. Bon's on Wednesday. The girls are falling comfortably into a new zone defense and offense. Erin Brusey led the Barons scoring with 8 points while Jesse McNeil and Beth Peddle added 6 each to keep within 19 points of the strong team from St. Bon's. Final Score was 53-34.

Barons improve record to 5-1 with win over PWC

The Bishops Barons earned a 5-1 record in league play with a 46-34 win against the PWC cavaliers today at the Bishops College Gymnasium. After a rocky start the girls picked up the pace and ran a zone defense for the first time as a team in game play. The Barons win today was truly a team effort with Laura Crocker leading the offense with 13 points with Erin Bursey, Beth Peddle and Amy Gough each adding 8 points. Casey Dunn and Erin Bursey were tough on the boards to help lead the Barons to victory. Katie Moores scored 13 points for PWC with Rhonda Sommerton chipping in an additional 8 points.

The latest win over the Booth Braves sends the Bishops Barons into second place behind St. Bons' with a 4-1 record for league play. The Barons hold a 6-2 record for the season.

The Mighty Red Baron Strikes Again!

This time the Barons battled to a 57-20 win over the Booth Braves. Poor turnout for the Booth team handed the Barons an easy win. High-flyer Erin Bursey led the attack with 13 points and 8 rebounds while Beth Peddle chipped in another 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Barons. Ashley Edmunds recorded 5 steals for Mighty Red Barons, sealing the victory.

Barons take second seat to St. Bon's

St. Bon's served up the first loss this season for the Barons in league play. The Barons put on a brave face and put up a good fight against the strong zone defense and the sharp shooting of the girls of St. Bon's. Anna Snow of St. Bon's lead the scoring with 17 points with Mary Mcleavey chipping in another 16 for the winners. Laura Crocker and Erin Bursey led the Barons offense with 7 points a piece.

Barons send the Vikings out to sea!

The Bishops College Girls Basketball captured the win on Monday against the Gonzaga Vikings by a score of 56-47, despite getting in constant foul trouble and shooting a dismal 27% from the line. Rookie sensation Amanda Martret lead the offensive with 14 points while Sarah Hansford, Ashley Edmunds, and Amy Gough all chipped in 8 to secure the lead. Way to go girls!

Athlete of the Month for January!

Congratulations to Sarah Hansford for being awarded athlete of the month for January. Sarah has shown a positive attitude on and off the court and has played a key role in the success of the Girls Basketball team this year. Her attendance has been outstanding. Keep up the great work!
