Barons raise the bar against the Vikings
The Bishops College Barons stole the scene late in 4th quarter play on Monday evening to earn them a 67-65 win over the Gonzaga Vikings. The Barons, faced with several injuries and a short bench, trailed the Vikings by 8-12 points for most of the first 3 quarters. The Barons were down by 8 with 1 minute 15 seconds left on the clock. The Barons clenched the victory by sharp shooting, strong defense, and a quicker than quick fast break. Amy Gough landed a larger than life 3 pt play with 4.7 seconds left on the clock. The girls set more than one team record by shooting 70% from the line. Amy Gough and Laura Crocker sealed the win with 23 and 22 points respectively, while Beth Peddle added another 12 for the Barons. Sharp assists and aggressive defense lead the Barons to a high score of 67 points. Today's win gives the Barons a 6-2 record for league play and a 8-3 record for the season.
